Spare time during the week.

During the week my time is spent around the Rutland area, and as such my spare time is utilised walking around the Rutland water nature reserve.
The diversity of birds is fantastic in the reserve, ranging from blue tit to great white egrets and everything it seems in between.

At present a few smew (x2 drakes) are showing on Lagoon 3 and the South arm, along with black necked grebes and a red necked grebe on the north arm of the reserve.

A favourite of mine so far is the green sandpiper I managed to see at Rutland water this past week, not the best picture as it was so far away. But its a record of a sighting and I hope to get a better picture soon.
